In an effort to prevent overdose deaths, the Alliance provides fentanyl testing strips (FTS). By testing drugs for the presence of fentanyl, people can make informed decisions and take necessary steps to reduce their risk of overdose.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. Fentanyl is a major contributor to fatal and nonfatal overdoses in Michigan and the United States.
