About three years ago, The Alliance approached Christie Siegel, the Event Planner at the Royal
Oak Farmers Market, with an idea: creating a health expo. It didn’t take long for her to see the potential, and the Community Wellness Expo was born.

Held annually each September, this event now draws 300 to 400 people. Guests come and go, enjoying a lively mix of great food through food trucks, entertainment, and over 40 health and wellness vendors. From bounce houses, face painting, and crafts for kids to a Silent Disco and senior-focused booths, the event offers something for every age. In 2025, the Community Wellness Expo is planned for Wednesday, September 10, from 4–8 PM.

For Christie and the Market, the Community Wellness Expo is a perfect fit with the goal of hosting events all ages can enjoy.

“Partnering with The Alliance just made sense – they’re organized, friendly, and connected to the community,” says Christie. “Working with them has allowed us to host an event people keep coming back to year after year.”

She has found The Alliance to be a partner with strong community ties, excellent organization, and a collaborative mindset that makes working together easy. This kind of partnership is a powerful way for any organization to expand its reach and make a real difference in the community.
