Alliance Board Chair Angela DelPup has dedicated her career to improving health and wellness in the community. 

As Director of Community and Senior Programs for Ascension Michigan Community Health, she has championed the need for prevention education and recovery support. When she became familiar with the Alliance eight years ago, she saw a tremendous opportunity to bring more resources to the community. 

“The Alliance is a very important partner in supporting the prevention education and recovery support of not only our youth but their families and our community,” says Angela. “It is an honor to serve on the board as they continue to expand services and grow this organization.”

Angela first learned of the Alliance while serving as a board member on the Rochester/Auburn Hills Community Coalition. She continues to serve on the coalition and is excited about the synergy between the two organizations and shared goals, including youth prevention education. 

“I do not think people realize the quality of programming that is available through the Alliance specifically for school-aged students. We have very good resources that are evidence-based for students as young as elementary school,” she says. “The challenge is getting it out as widely as possible. Some school districts utilize the free programming; however, many may not even know what we have to offer and how easy it is to integrate into their curriculum.”  

Having served on the boards of many organizations, Angela is particularly impressed with the Alliance and looks forward to continuing to serve as board chair. “The Alliance is extremely dedicated to the mission. It has a visionary and extremely effective leader with a strong team,” she says. “It is financially sound and intentionally keeps administrative costs down so that the dollars go directly to those that they serve. The team is passionate and dedicated and extremely innovative.”
