Tamyka Haralson - A Sense of Pride
Individual Image
Tamyka Haralson was working as a director of operations for a medical practice when she decided she needed a change and began job searching. She had never even heard of the Alliance when she received an invitation to submit her resume. But, as she did her research, she felt drawn to the organization and its work for a very personal reason - her children.
“I began to learn what the Alliance was all about and was amazed to see so many resources that were available, specifically for students,” Tamyka said. “I have three children. Two are teenagers who deal with the everyday pressures that come with being a teen, including vaping and underage drinking. The programs we have really hit home as they are designed to educate teenagers on making healthy choices and reducing risk factors.”
Tamyka got the job and has been the office manager at the Alliance for 15 months. She works tirelessly to ensure that there are no disruptions to the organization’s day-to-day operations or the services it provides.
“There’s a sense of pride that comes with working for an organization that actively works within the community,” she says. “And honestly, I’ve never worked with such an amazing group of people. Our staff come from different walks of life, but they all inspire the children and adults they work with. Whether it’s from countless hours of education or lived experience, they are walking testimonies of success and courage. It is an honor to work beside them.”
